Sunrise EquiTherapy | Horse Show 2010

The 5th Annual Sunrise EquiTherapy Open Horse Show and Silent Auction at the Lancaster Event Center, July 17-18th was another huge success!

In spite of the WARM or rather HOT temperatures the turnout was terrific. Over 80 horses and 100 competitors participated. Several of the classes were split due to the large number of riders. Special Needs competitors had a great time and especially enjoyed the Goat Tying class! Sunrise therapy horses, Shamaaus and Guapo as well as Blues, UNL therapy horse, carried our clients in many of the classes.

Morgan Marshall, from the UNL Judging Team, judged both days of the show. Sunrise volunteers and UNL students, who took the class, Introduction to Equine Assisted Activities taught by Director Julie Wood, were among those that helped to make the show a success. Parents of Sunrise clients and Sunrise Board of Directors & spouses helped to make the show run smoothly. They took charge of concessions, ribbons/trophies, timing speed events, gate, registration, announcing, goats, set-up and take-down, Silent Auction, and anything else that needed attention. A huge THANK YOU!

The Silent Auction was a great asset. Items ranged from art work to landscaping as well as a picture of the capital autographed by Governor Heineman. Concessions, compliments of the Randy and Sally Moon family contributed to a great show. Thank you to all area businesses and private donors for their commitment to Sunrise EquiTherapy.

A special thank you to the Paso Fino Association for providing a demonstration on Sat and Sunday. These beautiful horses danced to music with their distinctive trot.

Finally, we are so grateful to all of the participants and families that helped make this a success. We raised over $6,000 through entries, Silent Auction and concessions.

THANK YOU!!
